Architectural Review
General Information
The mission of the Architectural Review Committee is to maintain and enhance property values for the benefit of individual homeowners and the Marina Vista Association. The scope of the architectural review process focuses on changes to the exterior of the property, as prescribed in the association’s CC&Rs.
The following improvements require the Committee’s approval before work can begin:
- Exterior doors
- Windows
- Decks and/or deck railings
- Conversion of crawl spaces
- Siding repairs/replacements
- Fence installations
- Exterior painting
- ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units)
- Retaining walls and drainage
- Solar panels
- Roof replacements
- Sewer laterals

The Committee is here to help homeowners comply with local ordinances. Visit the City of Sausalito website at www.sausalito.gov for current information on their planning process, including building codes and permit requirements.
The Committee also considers fire safety as part of the architectural review process and focuses on creating and maintaining the structural components of a fire-safe zone on the exterior of your home and the immediate five feet surrounding it, in compliance with local regulations. Application Process
Homeowners seeking to make architectural improvements should follow the steps below to request approval. Requests are typically handled within a week or less.

- Complete the form and attach supporting documents, such as plans and color samples
- Obtain the signature of the lot co-owner confirming their agreement to the work
- Submit the form and supporting documents by clicking the submit button
